Meet Our Team

  We are proud of our caring and professional staff.  We all love animals and strive to provide outstanding care to all of our patients.  We are available to you and your family if you have questions or concerns.


  • Alexis Haddock, DVM

    Dr. Haddock is from Shreveport, Louisiana and she grew up there with her 2 brothers. Dr. Haddock went to LSU in Shreveport for her B.S. in Biology and then LSU for vet school. Dr. Haddock has one cat, an orange boy named Scottie, and one dog, a cattle dog mix that was found on the side of the road after being hit by a car. His name is Bucky. In Dr. Haddock's free time she likes to do anything outside! She loves hiking and camping and spending most of her time outside with my dogs and friends. She also is a movie nerd and hockey fan. Her professional interests include feline medicine and working in a fear free way!! Dr. Haddock is excited to join Bluegrass's team!!

  • Brandi Barry, DVM

    Dr. Barry is originally from West Monroe, Louisiana, and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science from Louisiana Tech University in 2011. She attended veterinary school at St. George’s University in Grenada, West Indies and completed her clinical year at The University of Tennessee. She earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree from St. George’s University in 2016. Dr. Barry has two dogs at home, Callisto (beagle mix) and Sophie (Maltese). In her spare time, she enjoys hiking with her husband in the Smokies, baking, walking her dogs, and traveling. Her professional interests include internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, and dermatology. Dr. Barry loves living in Knoxville and is very excited to be a part of the team at Bluegrass Animal Hospital.

  • Cristi Moser, DVM

    Dr. Moser attended the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and earned her Bachelor degree in Animal Science in 1986. She earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Tennessee School of Veterinary Medicine in 1994. She began her career as a veterinarian in Maryville, TN, and then transferred to Cedar Bluff Animal Clinic in 1995. After 7 years at Cedar Bluff, Dr. Moser began working at Groves Animal Hospital. After one year, she and Mary Rice, RN purchased the practice and moved it to its current location on Ebenezer Road in 2002. Dr. Moser enjoys owning her own practice and caring for her patients and feels very blessed to be able to do what she loves.

  • Jessica Disney, DVM, DABVP (Canine and Feline Practice)

    Dr. Disney is a 2007 graduate of the University of Tennessee. Following graduation she completed a one year small animal medical and surgical internship at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia. Her interests include internal medicine, clinical pathology and care of geriatric patients. Dr. Disney is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (Canine/Feline Practice) since December 11, 2014. This well-respected organization includes less than 1,000 members who have met the rigorous requirements and testing to be considered a diplomate, and takes no less than three years to complete. Dr. Disney lives with her husband, two sons, and two dogs and enjoys running and spending time with her family.

  • Mary Rice

    Mary Rice practiced as a nurse in the Knoxville area from 1984-2004. In 2002, she and Dr. Moser purchased Groves Animal Hospital from Dr. Gloria Groves. In the fall of 2004, Mary left nursing to become the full-time Director of Operations at Bluegrass Animal Hospital. Mary enjoys owning a veterinary hospital and is active in the support of animal-friendly events through the clinic.

  • Sam Millet, CVPM

    Sam is originally from West Tennessee and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. She is also a Certified Veterinary Practice Manger!  In her spare time she loves to spend time with her family and running! She enjoys living in Knoxville and is excited to be a part of Bluegrass Animal Hospital Team!

  • Abby Thrasher, DVM

    Dr. Thrasher comes to us from Danielsville, GA, a town just outside Athens where she completed her Bachelor's Degree at the University of Georgia with a major in Animal Science. She attended veterinary school at Lincoln Memorial University, located in the Cumberland Gap area of Tennessee, and even completed one of her clinical rotations here at Bluegrass. In May 2022 she earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Thrasher's primary professional interests include pet nutrition and nurturing the Human-Animal Bond. Outside of work she enjoys a good mix of lazy days at home and exploring Knoxville. Dr. Thrasher is super excited to join Bluegrass's team.

  • Kennel Technicians:

    During your pet's stay at Bluegrass Animal Hospital, they will receive exceptional care from our kennel technicians. Our kennel team is dedicated to the care of your pet and will monitor their behavior daily. They will ensure your pet has a safe and fun trip to the pet hotel. Also, play time is a necessity! Our staff will pamper your pet and ensure that it is happy during the stay.  Our kennel staff is available for bathing services too.  Just ask our reception staff to schedule your pet for a bath when you drop off for boarding or day care.

  • Veterinary Technicians:

    Our technician team helps to assist our veterinarians through exams, surgeries, dental procedures, digital radiographs, ultrasound and many other medical services available here at Bluegrass Animal Hospital. They help monitor your pet's health and well being while at the clinic. They are dedicated to communicating current care methods for your pet. They are a wonderful team of caring individuals who provide quality care to every patient.

  • Reception Team:

    Our reception team will help guide you through the processes of our hospital. They help provide information regarding your pet and will provide you with exceptional customer service. They can assist you with making an appointment, scheduling a bath and making boarding reservations. The receptionists strive to make your visit to the clinic a pleasant event. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask our reception team for help.

  • Bathing Team: BAH

    Our Kennel Team can give your pet a bath. Additional services include a toenail trim, ear cleaning, and anal gland expression. Our bather stays in high demand, so schedule your appointment today.
